The Loop Tour #1: Trinity Forest and AT&T Trails

Our first discovery ride of The Loop Dallas.

K2 (Kristi Kerr) found me at a holiday party.  She knows me to be a cyclist and she wanted to explore the all of The Loop Dallas.  In sections, mind you. On e-bikes.  With stops.

Here’s the first segment we navigated: The Trinity Forest and AT&T Trails.  Seems simple enought. But, really, it was less about bikes and more about seeing things. and interacting.  We have tried to break it up into manageable segments). It is one of the most satisfying to ride or hike.

A big part of its appeal is the Trinity River Audubon Center. The staff is engaging, the exhibits are refreshing and accessible. And  it is just a beautiful building in a beautiful setting.

After we finished our loop of the two trails, we headed over to Bon Ton Farms for a farm-to-table lunch.  From the livestock (chickens and goats) just out the backdoor to the fresh food delivered to our table, it was another refreshing introduction to a side of Dallas few residents or visitors see.

This portion of The Loop is at the farthest reaches to the East and South.  While complete within itself, our challenge will be navigating those pieces that bring users from the West and North.  Stay tuned for that.

However, if, in the meantime, you want to see an island of wilderness and wildlife not far from the urban setting of Dallas and its Southern suburbs, these two trail segments are a must see.

Relentless
