The Loop Dallas Tour: An Overview

When I heard about The Loop Dallas it conjured up thoughts of the Huckleberry Loop in Tucson.  Then when K2 approached me at a holiday party that clinched it.

I guess I’m going on a series of bike rides with a naturalist to discover this new ring of the city.  OK I’m in.

“Let’s start this Saturday,” she said. The first ride, documented elsewhere, was to be the first of five or six. Tours, not drag races.  “I have an e-bike, a Townie,” she added. So we came up with this list:

  1. Trinity Forest and AT&T Tour
  2. Katy Trail and University Crossing/Ridgewood Trails
  3. Skyline/Trinity Strand
  4. SoPac
  5. Spine Trail
  6. Pemberton Hill Road Trail

Our goal is to navigate each of these sections and document our journey with photos and notes. While in aren’t doing it in sequential order, we will ride all of it.  And tell the story of each in this space.  The idea is to use the bicycle as a social and discovery device rather than a race vehicle.  Sure, we want to finish, but speed is not the first goal.

Watch this space for updates and an eventual complete story of The Loop Dallas from a casual cyclist perspective.

Thanks for the invitation, K2.
