Embracing Tucson: The Third Celebrating Arizona Interview

Another fun and interesting conversation with Lisa.  This one ranged from the Tucson Botanical Gardens to the Arizona Inn to degrees of separation to color TV. With lots of stops and rabbit trails in between.

The conversation spurred my interviewer to talk about her history with the Gardens.  She told a story about how they were a safe haven for her during a trying time. It is a magical place. Plus Sally has a pass for the summer months so she can join me there for walks.  And meeting other dogs.

Crossing the Gila River–in either direction– sets you up for a change in attitude as well as latitude. Pima County is quite the different place from Up North.  I’ve joked many time with my son that “if I want to feel like I am back in Dallas, I just go drive on the 101.”

Degrees of separation and the interaction with the people at the next table brought up some cool memories an ideas. My connection with the Tucson Auto Museum’s directors  as well as memories of waiters and fellow diners.

And, yes, there is no “N” in “Wilmot.”

A good podcast with lots of stories. Take a listen here.

Thanks, Writer Girl!
