Those of you who know me, know me to be a maker of lists. To do lists, grocery lists, supply lists and…lists of tips.
With my annual trip to the Parker Experience in Vegas coming up soon, you are now seeing (via Twitter) my list power networking tips. This random list of 15 tips is meant as a tease leading up to the event itself:
- Remember to be polite.
- Always bring business cards. Always.
- Practice patience.
- Have an opening line.
- Be persistent.
- Listen more than talk.
- Make eye contact.
- Have fun!
- Use a firm handshake.
- Do you know how to greet the opposite gender correctly?
- Follow up, follow up, follow up!
- Work the room.
- Put your name tag in the right place.
- Be positive.
- Remember, it’s not about you!
