The PNW Adventure, Day 11: LaConnor to Boise, a day of goodbye and nostalgia

Stage 3 of this adventure began early with a cup of fresh coffee with Jody. And me breaking camp.

I had no idea I had so much…stuff…with me. The guy at Meat Machines is onto something.

After packing and saying goodbye to these fantastic ladies and their doggies, I hit the trail. Changed my destination to Boise rather than Bend. Ready to book it home.

Thanks, Shannon, for the blueberry muffin!

Before leaving the area, however, I had to take a moment to relive my pre-1992 life in Redmond. Took my old commute home down 405 to the Lake Sammamish area. Cannot believe all of the growth—and traffic. Standing in front of my former home made me realize how much I wouldn’t want my old life back knowing who I’ve met and what I’ve learned since then. I wish others could have this revelation.

Playlist for today included Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, and a slew of other country singers. It was a musical drive.

Once over the pass, I saw the temperature gauge rise from the 70s to over 100. And the topography changed from pine trees to rolling, dry grasslands. That diagonal drive across 3 states and 2 time zone was revealing.

Finally unloaded so I could sleep in a real bed for the first time in 7 nights.

Relentless
