Report from the Field: Paris Air Show 2011

It is held every other year in June at the field where Charles Lindbergh landed in 1927.  So the Paris Air Show at LeBourget kicks off today.

Our colleague, Kimberly Williamson of Aviall, is on site and filed this initial report:

“Things are incredibly busy in Paris,” Kimberly reports. “Hall 4 is packed with exhibitors and I would assume the other three halls are full as well,” she said.

Paris uses a combination of exhibit halls, flightline chalets (entertainment centers that mostly serve up food and drink to invited guests) and flying exhibitions to engage customers and prospects.

“The chalet line is incredible,” Kimberly continues. ” I think this show is going to be better than (it was) two years ago as the economy seems to be picking up,” she said.

The show kicked off at 9:30 am Paris time this morning.
