A friend has asked me to write the love story of she and her late husband. Having been in love but not loved back, how do I write it?
While I’ve been married twice and have been in several longer-term relationships, I’ve never really been loved back. All of the significant women in my life have said some variation of “I love you but I’m not in love with you.”
How do I show this love between two people when I’ve only been on one side?
One of my writer coaches says to look for the “why” behind you writing: what is motivating this assignment?
Money? Status? A favor? A lesson?
Maybe it is because my friend asked and it sounds like a great story. And maybe I can learn something about myself during the process.
