We need to remind ourselves each day of the good in that day. By changing your perspective on your day, you can change your whole outlook on life.
Author and former NPR reporter, Lisa Napoli, told a story on a recent episode of NPR’s Think, to end your day with making a list at bedtime. The list is to be made up of the three good things that come up each day. The device caused Lisa, as she described, to look at the day differently as it happened. She found herself looking at each interaction or encounter during the day as potential candidates for the list.
I can testify that this kind of device can cause you to look at your life positively. Those of you who have seen my PictureWorthyDays photos on Facebook know that I get to do the same thing Lisa is doing. And it has caused me to look at each day as a new experience.
So, think about how you look at your day as you look back on it. What made the day good or great? This positive outlook will help you be easier to approach and talk with in your networking. You’ll smile more often and stand taller. And, seriously, you will look at each new person you meet as a new experience and a candidate for that night’s list.
