Riding Bikes versus Beating the Clock

Over time rallies went from being almost a lark to being a veritable drag race to finish (see my blog about “remember this is supposed to be fun”). And, also, as time has gone on, things have come full circle.

Today a friend related how she could have probably ridden a longer distance at a rally. Instead she chose to take a shorter distance ride with a fellow club member.

So what happened?

They had fun. It was another experience, the scene, the companionship.

So often we climb on our bikes to go fast, to race the clock or each other or something else. However, there are times when our wheels are there to take us place to meet (and maybe meet again) with friends. And open our eyes.

What a concept.

Relentless
