Travels with Sally: A simple ballgame

We play at least once each day, sometimes twice.

Sal and I head to McCormick Park with her “flinger” and extra long leash. We play for 20 minutes or so, me flinging the 2-inch rubber ball and she chasing it. Over the shoulder catches that would make Willie Mays proud.

Most days at McCormick we encounter her dog “homies:” Coco, Luna, Taco Bell and their human companions. The dogs sniff and chase and bark. The people chat, laugh and linger before the day gets away from us.

On Fridays we head for Udall Park.  Or Himmel Park on the weekends.

We should all have time for a ball game.

It is our time together.

Relentless
