Today I found myself in full marketing mode. My client is in the midst of planning for next year. and, I, being the loayal and faithful remote contract consultant that I am, found myself writing a marketing plan.
Really. Maybe it is like riding a bike. Oh, I’ve been falling off of those, but I digress.
Actually today was about pulling together all into one place the prospective advertising, marketing, promotion, trae shows and creative plans for the coming year. Lo and behold I think I did it.
After interviewing the critical advertising reps and creative collaborators, and reviewing what we had done these past few years. and taking into account the company president’s financial guidance, I assembled a PowerPoint with all of the appropriate information.
I thought it looked pretty damn good. But that’s for the client to decide.
So, here I am–relocated and cruising in a retirement-type of mindset and still servicing clients. The fun part is collaborating with the media types–the industry writer in Florida, the sales rep in the UK , the podcast producer in Houston. Just like the old days.
Yet I find myself tired and looking for ways to escape to the park for a ballgame with Sally. I’m sure others of you are torn between continuing to work and goofing off. But I just can’t make myself watch awful news or be bored. This is my way of mixing it up.
Just one more plan for old time’s sake. I’ll keep you posted on the outcome.
in the meantime, Sal and her balla re calling my name.
Relentless
