More of a “let’s get there” day. Got the beer shirt and dipped the tire.
Got on the road in West Union at 5:36am on the way to Lansing 65-plus miles away. With lots of hills in between. And lots of downhills on the other side of those big hills! Was able to be in line for the tire dip in the Mississippi River by around 1:00pm. I learned that I have more speed and can cover more ground than I ever thought I could after this trip.
Music by Billy Joel, Jewell, and Taylor Swift paced me. Took my time and got there. Comforted by a breakfast sandwich, (root) beer, a brat, pie with the Lutherans (with the Amish little girls lined up on the lawn in front of the church and cemetery).
Such a sense of accomplishment! And I got to do it with great people!
Relentless
