Using Your Time Well

As networkers, we are always looking for the next thing, that edge that will help us succeed further.  This morning I happened upon a story about what successful people do before breakfast and it go me to thinking:

Am I using my day to the fullest and best that I can?

As it points out in the story, likened to paying yourself first when you manage your finances, are you taking care to manage your time and focus FIRST on those things that will make you successful?

Seriously, the early bird does get the worm–and work.  My own example was trading LinkedIn messages with  former coworker at 5:30am on a Friday morning.  The conversation grew to a contract an a project that kept me retained for 6 months.

If you are up and about early, do you focus on the things that will get you the attention and result in billable hours? And are you using your time for more billable hours than non-billable hours? I always think to myself as I make my list for the day that I am going to prioritize based on whether the activity will (1) pay a bill, (2) save me money and (3) cost me money.  It works the same when you work with a large company.

We all need be happy in what we do and by planning and executing our time productively, we will be happy.

Relentless
