Relentless. It is something we all need to be or aspire to be. In business, in our personal lives and with social causes, we all must aspire or pursue things relentlessly.
Truly, it is the only way anything gets done. And, besides, anything short of full-tilt pursuit of your goals should be viewed as half assed and less than inspiring. Besides, what else important are you doing with your life?
Look, we all have it in us and many have illustrated it for us: Ja Marr and The Kaizen Way, Sagor and Rickey in their same-titled book about transformational leadership and Nadastra‘s leadership model. Leaders relentless pursue things. Successful people pursue their passions relentlessly.
From the time my colleague, Melinda Guravich, gave me the moniker, The Relentless Networker, I’ve been thinking about and acting upon the principles. Patience, persistence and it’s not about you came from years of networking with people of all levels and abilities. From chambers of commerce to professional groups’ happy hours, luncheons and breakfast meetings, I’ve learned to stay at it. Learning about people, listening and getting to know and shape my audiences. I built a clientele and constituency–multiple ones.
Through it all, besides the three paradigms, I’ve learned we all need to be persistent, patient and relentless about:
- Marketing.
- Image.
- Audience.
- Connecting.
Be consistent and clear in your marketing. Have a flawless and repeatable image. Know your audience and be sure and know who you are connecting with.
Don’t give up or give in. Do it with your all and look for and enjoy the results. You really do have it in you.
